Maryland Chapter Goals

The Maryland Chapter works on a local level to meet the following goals:

  • To serve as the magnet organization for linking public, private and academic institutions into an effective network to support interdisciplinary communications, management innovation and professional development among Blacks choosing public service careers.
  • To provide intensive and rigorous training in critical management areas in response to the specialized needs of Black public sector professionals.
  • To identify and groom younger, emerging Black administrators and provide relevant exposure to the challenges and rewards of public service careers.
  • To conduct research on selected social and economic issues endemic to Blacks.
  • To sponsor and conduct national and regional forums that enable the discussion of timely issues and the topical concerns of the Black community.
  • To develop and maintain a national information bank on the nation's growing Black public administrative leadership.
  • To promote, strengthen and expand the roles of Blacks in all aspects of public administration.

The Maryland Chapter welcomes you to join our organization as we continue to provide informative professional development and networking opportunities.  The chapter will continue to post information on our website about upcoming events. We encourage you to get involved.  Our success depends on your commitment to excellence in public service!

NFBPA invites you to participate in four days of dynamic professional training, hear from thought-provoking keynote speakers, and share in creative idea-generating experiences. FORUM 2017 will offer over 30 sessions where conference attendees will learn from public sector experts and business leaders. There will be valuable networking opportunities and an informative Innovations Center to examine marketplace solutions. FORUM 2017 professional development program has been designed to meet the learning needs of conference attendees at all levels to include emerging, evolving and experienced leaders in public service.  Attendees’ learning experience will sharpen essential tools and develop new skills that will make them more valuable to their organizations. Hear first-hand about emerging trends and best practices.

The breadth and depth of subject matter covered at the conference provides quality programs for attendees whether you are a student pursuing a degree in public administration, an emerging leader, an evolving manager or an experienced executive.

FORUM 2017 will be anything but business as usual. We know you have limited time and limited dollars spend attending a conference. So we have planned a conference certainly well worth the money and definitely well worth the time!
